bible diet
Dark Lord of Truth asked:

…like saying that only a doctor can truly understand diet and exercise? Or only a mechanic can understand that crashing a car into a brick wall is a bad idea?

There is a difference in the knowledge of a doctor or a mechanic and the belief of a christian.

I think so. Lots of people who aren’t Christian understand what it says. They just might not choose to believe it.

You can’t understand all of the Bible without the Holy Spirit.

No. You are incapable of understanding the Bible if you don’t have the Spirit of God. You can only have surface understandings without the Spirit.

Maybe they mean only a Christian is dumb enough to think the bible means something.

You’re comparing religion to exercising, proving that you cannot truly understand what the f*ck you’re talking about yet alone letting your self insult other people’s Holy book.

true. infact, anybody who is truly christian hasnt read the bible carefully. those who read it carefully see its contradictions and realizes it can not be anything other than fiction

no one can “understand” the bible – a collection of fairy tales to help people pass the time of day

No. It’s like saying only a doctor can understand Grey’s Anatomy (the book, not tv show) or only a mechanic can understand a mechanical guide.

there is a spiritual aspect of the Bible atheist reject…so you would be limited in your understanding…don’t many atheists think if you are a Christian that you can’t use logic, rationale, or reason…that seems sillier than your question…

Not quite its more like saying:
“Only a Physicist can truly understand and appreciate the concept of paradoxical proof.”

I think it’s rather like saying that only people who are not stupid or incompetent can see the Emperor’s new clothes.

No actually they are the only ones who can understand the thing, no one else could possibly understand it because you must first throw out logic and common sense and replace those attributes with blind faith and ostrich posture.

It’s more like saying that only an addict can understand heroin.

That is a fallacy. Not all Christians are truly Christians. Therefore not all so called Christians can truly understand the bible. Only by the spirit of God can we come to wisdom, knowledge and truth.

Bible
Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth

To Truly understand the Bible you have to have a longing for God..And a will to serve Him…

Look at it this way,
When you first went to school..you didn’t know that 3 x 2 = 6 …but the more you learned and studyed…first with addition and subtraction problems then you moved up Multiplying numbers..
That same way that look should look that the Bible and understanding the Word of God…
The more work that you put into seeking God and reading and studying His Word..and making yourself available to Him..By going to Church,Going to Bible study, and working in the Church using your talent and skill to serve God..the closer you will get to God and having that relationship with Him..You will being to understand the Bible better and the message will become more clearer in your head as well as your heart..

God Bless

More of Yes then No. Yes, because, being a Christian, your understanding becomes biased.
No, because, some are not blind followers and still remain Christians.
